Tangerine Hills is a neighborhood of detached houses on lots of about an acre in the Town of Oro Valley, at the south-west corner of West Tangerine Road and North First Avenue. Most of it was laid out in a single Tangerine Hills subdivision plat of 117 lots, which Pima County's plat layer dates to October 1979; a 1993 plat, Monterra Estates, adds 22 larger lots and two common areas along the west side, and a commercial plat, Oro Valley Retail Center, takes up the corner of the two roads. The county roll carries the 117 Tangerine Hills lots at a median of about 1.02 acres, zoned R1-36 on the Town's layer, and the Monterra Estates lots at a median of about 1.33 acres, zoned PAD. The county's annexation layer places all of it under a single Town of Oro Valley ordinance of 1994, so both plats were recorded before the Town took the ground in. Rancho Vistoso, which has its own page here, lies to the north across Tangerine Road; Villages at Silverhawke lies to the east across First Avenue, and Tangerine Meadows and Monterra Ridge, separate neighborhoods, to the south and west.
