A small grid-platted historic barrio just east of downtown Tucson, held inside a triangle formed by the Arroyo Chico wash on the north, South Kino Parkway on the east, the Barraza-Aviation Parkway (State Route 210) on the southwest, and South Park Avenue on the west. Those arterials leave the barrio with almost no through streets, so its interior lanes carry local traffic only. A portion of the neighborhood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2024, and the historic property inventory prepared for that nomination records the two building traditions that set the streetscape: Transitional Sonoran single residences — flat-roofed, adobe-walled, built close to the lot line — and Craftsman bungalows from the 1905–1930 era, with early two-bedroom adobe and pueblo-style houses alongside them. Midcentury bungalows and ranch-style houses fill the later lots, and the housing stock is overwhelmingly modest single-story homes on small parcels. No homeowners association governs the barrio. Recreation sits on its own edges: San Antonio Park carries a canopy-shaded playground and a large open dirt area, Cherry Field adds a ball diamond with stadium seating, and the Arroyo Chico Greenway — a four-mile paved multi-use path — runs the northern boundary for walking, running, and cycling. The Lost Barrio retail district on South Park Avenue just below East Broadway Boulevard fills a converted warehouse row with roughly a dozen furniture, home-décor, garden, and architectural-salvage shops. Cox Communications' Tucson operation and Mission Linen both sit inside the neighborhood, the Broadway Boulevard retail corridor runs along the north, downtown Tucson and its employers are under two miles west, Reid Park and the Reid Park Zoo are about a mile east, the University of Arizona is roughly two miles north, and the Barraza-Aviation Parkway on the southern boundary runs southeast toward Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, with Interstate 10 about two and a half miles west by way of Broadway Boulevard or 22nd Street. Historical resale pricing has run from roughly the $180,000s for smaller adobe and bungalow houses to about $475,000 for larger and renovated ones.
